About this deal

Starship Troopers released in 1997, was shot on film, and has been sourced from the previous 4K restoration found on the 2017 disc. HEVC transfer exemplifies what watching films in HD is all about and though I did catch a few spots where there was a bit of softness, they were few and far between. Starship Troopers is an absolutely glossy and fascinating action movie, with a great deal of method to its madness.

STARSHIP TROOPERS | Sony Pictures Entertainment

Verhoeven and Neumeier draw inspiration from the propaganda films of both sides of World War II, the American Why We Fight series and Leni Riefenstahl’s bone chilling Nazi classic Triumph of the Will. Whether it's taking in a baseball game, a new season of Futurama or Castlevania: Nocturne, or playing the latest From Software title, he is always finding ways to show his fandom. This is not so much the case in Starship Troopers since it is all rather obvious, but Verhoeven often does use that approach.

Starship Troopers: 20th Anniversary Edition (4K UHD Review)

description: From the bridge of the Fleet Battlestation Ticonderoga, with its sweeping galactic views, to the desolate terrain of planet Klendathu, teeming with shrieking, fire-spitting, brain-sucking special effects creatures, acclaimed director PAUL VERHOEVEN crafts a dazzling epic based on Robert A. This film starts skakey but soon opens up in the world already created, the final 40 minutes is where the beats pickup. The current 4K disc looks pretty darn good, unless this gets rave reviews for the Dolby Vision upgrade I’ll probably wait for the inevitable cheaper later release.complimentary with only a few scenes, such as in the classroom near film's start, appearing a bit denser and snowier. In The case of Lost Boys, I'd take the poster art 50 times over that steelbook and regular 4K garbage artwork.
