About this deal
Using a S-Video to HDMI converter that is rated below your HD display's video quality will cause you to lose some of the video quality.
S-video (short for Separate -video despite the misconception that it might mean Super-video)is an analog video connection standard that transmits electrical signals over wires to represent the original video. There are some converters that will convert the video or media content from the S-Video device to a higher quality. Cookies collect information about your preferences and your devices and are used to make the site work as you expect it to, to understand how you interact with the site, and to show advertisements that are targeted to your interests.Today it stopped working; the monitor indicates 'HDMI NO SIGNAL' and when I check the display settings on my laptop, it doesn't detect the HDMI monitor.
Take the S-Video cable from the device that has the S-Video port and plug it in to the S-Video port of the S-Video to HDMI converter, which is located on the back of the converter and is marked with "SV. If both your output device (computer, DVD player, or game console) and your input device (television) have an S-video port, all you need is an S-video cable with the correct number of holes at each end. S-Video to HDMI converters are complicated devices; reading the manual that comes with the converter is highly recommended. If your S-Video device uses analog audio cables, such as the ones the ones in the second picture of the resources, connect those to the S-Video to HDMI converter.
Converters are widely used to connect computers, DVD players or old satellite TV connections (S-Video) to HDTVs (TVs that use HDMI). I swapped HDMI cables, tried another ASUS monitor, and tried another USB-C to HDMI adapter without luck. Newer S-Video connections have the audio built in to their connections and do not need any other cables for audio.
Purchase an S-Video to HDMI converter that supports the resolution of the HD display you are connecting to (See link in the Resources section for a picture of such a device). S-video is an improvement over composite video, which carries all the video data (including brightness and color information) in one signal over one wire.
