About this deal
A time-capsule twice over: at once, it is both an incredible collection of '60s soul and pop hits (Otis Redding, The Ronnettes, The Drifters, The Shirelles) and, now-nostalgic '80s pop (Eric Carmen's "Hungry Eyes", "Yes" by Mary Clayton, and maybe even the best song on the album "She's Like The Wind" by the film's star Patrick Swayze).
This 2XLP features the soundtrack albums " Dirty Dancing" and " More Dirty Dancing" in one complete set, re-mastered for the 35th anniversary, and housed in a numbered sleeve, pressed on color vinyl, limited to just 1987 copies. The film’s pro-choice storyline stoked controversy at the time of release and has only become more urgent in the intervening years.
Mondo and Sony Music are proud to present a 35th anniversary pressing of one of the most iconic and best selling soundtrack albums of all time: DIRTY DANCING. Starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, it tells the story of Frances “Baby” Houseman, a young woman who falls in love with dance instructor Johnny Castle (Swayze) at a vacation resort. Packed with such unforgettable classics as “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,”“Be My Baby” (The Ronettes), “Hungry Eyes” (Eric Carmen), “She’s Like The Wind” sung by star of the movie Patrick Swayze feat.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. As such, it makes sense to open the soundtrack to the romantic classic with that song, setting the nostalgia off from the get-go and taking you back through every swooning moment between Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. This special 35th anniversary edition of the soundtrack comes on a special custom-shaped picture disc - a true collector's edition. The “Dirty Dancing” soundtrack generated two multi-platinum albums and multiple hit singles notably the iconic standard “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” performed by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
