Beats Studio3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones - Apple W1 Headphone Chip, Class 1 Bluetooth, Active Noise Cancelling, 22 Hours Of Listening Time - Shadow Grey
About this deal
Some active noise cancellation headphones sound like digital tinnitus, but the Beats Studio 3 Wireless are more like a record player in terms of this background noise. Particularly bass-heavy tracks may suffer: the bass in the song “ Never Look Back” by Slow Club masks the slow finger snaps at the intro.
It does what it's supposed to, has a good sound (although there are in-ear headphones which sound even better to my taste), is very easy to connect to the phone, and also comes with a rich set of accessories; including. You understand very well and clearly, only sometimes it takes until the device finds the headphones. We’ve heard such distortion in pairs from less experienced noise cancelling headphone makers when taking the London Tube, standing next to the door, but haven’t heard any such distortion from the Bose QuietComfort 35.
These have a few different buttons and, despite the symmetrical look of the headphones, they’re all located on the left side (save for the power button). We’ve heard this mid failing before in Beats headphones and noted how it makes the soundstage seem constrained, even though the problem is in the “middle”, not the top and bottom. The headphones by default always have the ANC on, and it adapts to the amount of sound going on around you.
