About this deal

The story is about Ayesha and her daughter Sabina who moved to London after the series of violence banged by Ayesha’s husband Suresh.

This was a fantastic novel, and I am so bloody glad that I gave it a read, because I would have missed a pretty spectacular, edge-of-your-seat novel that also featured one of the greatest bunch of housemates you will ever meet. Ayesha is a woman who is originally from Sri Lanka, she marries a man who lives in England, she gets horribly abused, but her daughter who is traumatized helps her make the decision to run away from her abusive husband and his silent family, with the clothes on her back to London, to seek help from an organization that takes care of abused women (thank God for such people).

Her persistence in befriending Roanie Sullivan despite everything in her DNA that all but requires her to stay away from his type is what ultimately steals your heart and makes you fall in love with Claire and all she stands for. Craig Hall as Jack Duncan, the secret, past lover of Carolyn and secret father to Anna, who now faces many challenges in his work as a doctor in a hospital run by the Bligh family. Later, when Sarah is amazed to learn that he is still alive, she travels to Paris to rescue him from the deep psychological damage caused by his long ordeal of imprisonment and torture.

I really thought I was on to something and that I had made a good choice when I decided to read the book. Brett Climo as George Bligh, Elizabeth's son, a good-hearted man who takes Sarah under his protection and gradually falls in love with her.You will feel betrayed, you will feel angry, you will be shocked, and you will feel heartbreak as you continue to see just how many forces try to break Claire and Roan apart.

I liked how each of the characters are struggling in some form or other but, together, they start to work through their problems and create a better life for themselves.

I also found it strange that Roan stalked Claire for years but never even contacted her once - she'd never rejected him, and I was irritated that he used Matthew as an excuse to stay away from the Maloneys. She has a unique way of presenting complex ideas in a simple and understandable format that resonates with readers of all ages. The pilot episode was originally broadcast on 28 April 2013, in the 8:30pm time slot (previously occupied by Downton Abbey).
