There are three questions every woman should be able to answer yes to before they commit to a man. If you answer no to any of the three questions, run like hell." Omg! Love your review! Cant wait to read the book! <3 Colleen is my favorite author! She makes you FEEL what the characters are feeling. Its amazing! Ms. Colleen Hoover is such a genius! 🙂 She really knows how to touch our lives and of course, our hearts! <3
She smiles and releases her fingers from mine. She turns toward me on the bed and looks at me. I pull her hand to my mouth and kiss the inside of her palm. She almost looks relieved that I seem to have caught on to her intentions. She shakes her head. I’m sorry, Will. I’m so sorry. I just can’t do this anymore. That's how it is when a person develops an attraction toward someone. He's nowhere, then suddenly he's everywhere, whether you want him to be or not." (59)Yeah. Thank God for that, I say. I clasp my hands together behind my head and look up at the ceiling, mirroring Lake’s position on the bed. It’s funny how history almost repeated itself.
I have fallen in Love with everything I have read from Colleen so far and I wasn't disappointed with "This Girl". I am a huge fan of the Slammed series and fall in love with the characters. I loved the series. These are among the few weeks that leave a hangover. You keep thinking about few scenes replay them in your head and re-read them. All the characters seem real rather than fictional ones. And I miss them terribly now. Hope we get more spin-off books on the same characters, though i know we wont, but there is always a hope 🙂 I pull away and stand up, turning away from her. I run my hands through my hair and take a deep breath. The anger building inside me is suddenly coupled by tears that I have no intention of letting her see.Yildiz on Reader Question – The book about the probate attorney that marries her to protect her from her relatives. I read Slammed and POR and cried. I was about three minutes into this review and I cried. I am positive that I will read This Girl and cry. Alas, my tears will have to wait. Next on my reading list is the last (for right now) in the Marked series by Sylvia Day. This Girl was everything I hoped it would be & more! Was never once disappointed except for when it ended!
There's one thing I don't understand with romance novels.. When the characters and plot doesn't actually remind me of a love story. This is pure lust and obsession. There's a trope that everyone is familiar with: the man who doesn't want to commit and the woman who wants to change him for the better. It's not new, it's not exciting, it's just boring. This one had it all and I was terribly not impressed. Sprinkle that with sex scenes and this is what you get. I was more interested in Miles' past and I had many theories, but I wasn't truly accepting of him being super in love with a girl he laid his eyes on for 5 minutes. He literally falls in love at first sight. But if you read it, it's more like an obsession. What was it like the first time you saw me? she asks. What was it about me that made you want to ask me out? And tell me everything, even the bad thoughts. And then… a look into the near future. *sigh* Will’s connection to Layken is second to none, but his connection to Julia made my eyes well with tears. I’ve said it before, an I’ll say it again. An ending can truly take a book to that next level. And this one did. THIS had one of those endings that took a really good read into “Wow!! PERFECT” territory, for me.Will… She pauses. The way she says my name, the tone of her voice… it sends panic straight to my heart. She looks up at me but can’t hold her stare, so she turns away. Of all the ways I read it, I recommend only reading it from beginning to end. It makes more sense that way and isn't as soggy. Five stars!
